A growing national life insurance brokerage in Canada is looking for a Life Insurance Underwriting Associate to help submit and process insurance applications for our clients.
In this key role, you will perform a broad range of integral functions for the Company’s underwriting operations, including preparation, evaluation and management of insurance applications, preparation of documentation, and organization of client information. These activities will collectively drive improved efficiency and accuracy in the Company’s underwriting activities, improving operational performance for the business.

Your role will include:
- Working as part of the team, develop efficient plans to process large volumes of individual life insurance applications based on the company’s strategies
- Collect and organize client information prior to application submission to major insurance companies
- Perform telephone interviews with clients to complete insurance applications
- Track progress of applications up until the policies are issued and follow up as needed to collect additional information from clients or their doctors and schedule medical follow ups
- Have regular contact with underwriting departments at major insurance companies to ensure smooth progress of files
- Resolve issues for clients during the underwriting process to ensure their objectives are met
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on regulations and standards in the insurance industry

· Experience with insurance software
· Life insurance license is a plus
