Responsibilities
Communicate pertinent information with the shift supervisor and cross shift on regular basis.
Install/pull cable and messenger, install, set-up and maintain MPCs.
Read, understand, and interpret prints as well as electrical schematics.
Troubleshoot equipment for optimal performance, uncover faults, identify hazards, and defects. Must be able to adjust or repair, in compliance with industry codes and report conditions that may cause pre-mature breakdowns.
Candidate must be able to develop risk assessments for all tasks and adhere to site policies and procedures by committing to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Perform various duties assigned by the electrical supervisor, as necessary.
Experience, Education and Skills
Possess a Red Seal Inter-Provincial Electrician Journeyman Trade Certificate, licensed in province of Manitoba (Apprentices will be considered)
Knowledgeable in the interpretation of electrical schematics and prints.
Previous experience in the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment in an underground mining environment would be considered an asset.
Have a strong safety ethic and be able to work collaboratively with other trades personnel and crew members, often with little or no supervision.
Must be able to adhere to site LOCK & TAG policies and procedures when isolating electrical power to equipment.
Full Underground Basic Common Core an asset.
Capable of effectively working alone or as a team.
