The Little Sparo is an exciting, creative, inventive and unique Italian dinning experience set in downtown St. John’s. One of the city's finest culinary establishments. We are actively looking for an Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in daily operations.
The Little Sparo operates 7 days a week and offers Breakfast, Brunch and Dinner. The ideal candidate will need flexible availability and be able to work when required.
Summary of Responsibilities:
* Reporting directly to the General Manager and providing support with daily operations and all assigned duties
* Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging hospitality to provide memorable dining experiences, exceeding our guest’s expectations
* To have full knowledge of all food and beverage menus in the restaurant/bar and all other special promotions in the hotel
* Serve, clear and re-set tables in a timely manner and assist with in room dining orders when necessary
* Lead and manage the team in all aspects of the department and ensure service standards are followed
* Assist with the training of all front of house employees
* Assist with scheduling and managing hourly labor
* Experience ordering F&B and maintaining inventory an asset
* Maintain a clean and well stocked environment for our guests
* Handle guest concerns and react quickly and professionally
* Ensure that all equipment, fixtures, and furniture of the department are kept in the best repair possible and are used in a safe and proper manner
* Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
* Demonstrate a complete understanding of, and critically assess the restaurant policies, procedures and service standards
* Ensure effective working relationships and clear communication with all colleagues and leaders in the restaurant and other departments.
Other duties as assigned Qualifications:
* Minimum of 1 year previous Food and Beverage leadership experience required
* Working knowledge of Point of Sale System required
* A dynamic leader with strong organizational skills and passion for Food & Beverage
* Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
* Displays high initiative and requires minimal supervision and direction
* Must possess excellent interpersonal, communications and problem solving skills
* Energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated and a definite team player
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
* Strong organizational and administrative skills required.
* Sommelier designation an asset
*Experience working with a hotel partner an asset
