JOB DESCRIPTION: TICKET OFFICE CASHIER
DEPARTMENT: Guest Services/Downhill Tickets
REPORTS TO: Guest Services/Ticket Office Supervisor
Downhill Ticket Office Cashiers operate point of sale terminals within the Ticket Office to sell, issue and accept payment for lift tickets.
JOB DUTIES:
Cash Procedures
- Operates Sirius Ware selling station to accurately sell lift tickets
- Check Staff ID for employee discounts
- Maintains cash float and is responsible for daily cash outs
- Receive and process payments by credit/debit cards, cash and Cypress Bucks
- Calculate total payments received at end of work shift and reconcile with total sales
- Knows all ticket and pass rates
- Is familiar with procedures and information (established and new)
Customer Service
- Provides accurate information to Guests regarding lift tickets and rental rates, all area facilities and services, operation hours, etc. for both Downhill and Nordic Areas
- Caters to Guest needs and handles complaints in a pleasant and helpful manner
- Keeps updated on current events/promotions and informs Guests of the same
- Responsible to check on changes to policy and/or procedures
- Emergency Procedures
- Knows procedures for emergencies and follows instruction in emergency situations
Other
- Possesses full mountain knowledge
- Follows all procedures as described in the Employee Handbook
- Maintains a neat and efficient work area
- Takes responsibility for his/her own safety and reports unsafe conditions to their Supervisor
- Follows new procedures as required
- Assists and supports all other Cypress Mountain staff in the performance of their job duties
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Courteous towards co-workers and Guests
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Works primarily in the Downhill Ticket Office, but may be asked to help in Guest Services
- Downhill Tickets must remain neat and in order at all times
- Shift work is required, days and evenings, seven days a week
- Some shifts may be on an on call basis and contingent on snow, weather conditions and ticket sales levels
- Overtime may be required (must be approved)
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Cash experience and/or solid record or responsibility
- Ability to remain organized and courteous when under pressure
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Aptitude for electronic equipment and mathematical skills
- Ability to adapt to change
