Reporting to the Manager of System Operations, you will oversee the real-time electrical operations within the Alberta Interconnected Electrical System (AIES). You'll ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency by coordinating with System Operators on activities such as switching, maintenance, and construction. Collaboration with other utilities and the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) is also key.
What You Will Do:
· Be a steward of a "safety-first" culture within ATCO Electric.
· Guide, train, and mentor System Operators in real-time power system operations.
· Coordinate across teams to draft and update Operating Procedures and Policies.
· Act as a key point of escalation for operating issues, ensuring compliance and best practices.
Qualifications:
· NERC Transmission Operator Certification preferred.
· Journeyman Powerline Technician, relevant Technology Diploma, or higher education required.
· Experience in Bulk/Non-Bulk Electrical System operations.
· Valid Driver’s License.
