At Spectrum Society, we support people who are exploring their individual interests and goals.
This support can be provided in a variety of different ways from daily life skills, daily activities they enjoy, grocery shopping, food prep, personal care and other physical supports. We shape the support provided based on what the person, their family and/or networks are saying they need; our person-centered approach is what attracts people to our organization!
The successful candidate will have a strong skill set as a team player and can also work autonomously.
They will have an understanding and belief system of respect, optimism and innovation in the community.
They possess an attention to detail and use a consistent and non confrontational approach to challenging behaviors and know how to set appropriate boundaries.
Must be attentive and have a calming influence in busy environments. A person who understands how to communicate well with someone who may be sensitive, while still maintaining strong boundaries.
Has an understanding of body language and tone of voice as mood cues and communication, as well as encouraging verbal communication.
A fun loving leader and mentor that gracefully role models to people in the community how to actively respect people with disabilities.
We provide training for all positions. Specific education or experience is not required but is considered an asset.
Driving is not a requirement for all positions but is an asset. Let us know if you have a license or personal vehicle.
Hours: Casual/Relief is on-call. Let us know your availability for work!
Probation: 3 Months
Rate of Pay $23.50 per hour to $25.75 per hour
Reports to: Team Manager
If you have a Work Permit, please ensure you are not restricted from working in the Health Services field.
