Job Overview
As the Store Manager, you will be responsible for directing the daily operations of a quick-service coffee and donut shop, providing high quality products and world-class customer service to our Tribe of returning customers, and encouraging more newcomers to join our Tribe to improve profitability of the business. This is done by attracting, hiring, and training the highest caliber employees who are excited about the brand, about all things coffee, and about delicious and ever-expanding food offerings, made locally in our community. Your attention to detail will ensure our quality standards are always being met by the team you oversee, the products coming into and going out of your store, and the level of service your customers are receiving. Reacting quickly to change is imperative in this position, as we constantly strive to keep our brand fresh and exciting. The expectation of this role is to lead by example, be a part of the team, and skillfully manage the operations of the store using all the tools provided for maximum efficiency. What you will never find at Aroma Maya is: stale, boring, or bland.
Job Responsibilities for Store Manager
Here is a list of the duties for which the Store Manager will be responsible. This list is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned from time to time.
People
● Attract, hire, and train sufficient staff to meet all Aroma Maya customer service standards
● Ensure appropriate staffing levels for fluctuating seasonal volumes (Christmas, Summer)
● Prepare staff schedules according to provided labour budgets and submit for approval
● Provide regular coaching, feedback, and performance management to all team members
equally and unbiased to develop a strong, well-rounded team
● Develop succession plans and coach/train employees to take on new roles and responsibilities as they become available
● Ensure legislative requirements are met regarding employment standards, human rights, and health and safety
● Deliver performance feedback and annual performance reviews in a manner consistent with the company values and expectations set forth by the company
Profitability
● Maintain adequate stock levels of supplies from various internal and external suppliers using data from previous weeks to ensure enough-but-not-too-much
● Waste management by ensuring proper training to avoid wasting ingredients and food items due to spillage, spoilage, or improper measurement
● Create visually appealing presentations of all merchandise and products in the store to attract customer attention and invite sales
● Coach team to actively up-sell products to customers, including larger sizes or additional. items, and cross-selling food, beverage, and retail items
● Adhere to supply budgets to limit controllable costs
● Understand seasonal shifts in customer traffic and purchasing trends
● Understand continuous operation of our stores to ensure adequate staffing, product
availability, and quick-response action to adverse situations
Store Operations
● Schedule and maintain time records for all employees in the store
● Maintain inventory records and organisation of all supplies and products
● Ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are being upheld at all times
● Ensure food safety standards are maintained, including Food Handlers training course
● Ensure appropriate team members are adequately trained on procedures for opening and closing the store, cash management, and related documentation
● Manage the execution of merchandising standards, pricing, and campaign set-ups including digital signage as required
● Facilitate all team training, from new hires to new product launches and promotions
● Make decisions consistent with the company vision to support key objectives
● Manage security systems and protocols; safeguard staff, customers, and product
● Ensure full compliance to Aroma Maya policies and process across all activities
