Training Provided. This is a great entry position for someone who is compassionate and wants to gain experience working with persons with disabilities. $22/hour ($18 during training). Currently hiring one employee for FOUR per week (or two employees for TWO days per week). These are 5 hour shifts. Typically 11am-4pm weekdays and some weekends (willing to discuss days and hours if availabilty conflicts ). Caring for an adult non-verbal f wheelchair user. Duties include taking client swimming, community outings, feeding blended meals and personal care. Note that training will include all aspects of care, including using a lift. The 4 shifts per week are focused on fun activities that connect client with community.: taking public transit, movies, shopping, nature walks, art classes, ice skating and community events ect. Activity costs covered by employer. Client loves meeting new people and experiencing new things and the goal as a Community Inclusion Worker is to plan ways in which to involve client in the community while finding fun activities and supporting communication (client uses yes and no and some modified signs for communication). Prepared blended meals for client are provided and personal care (dressing) is typically only required on swimming days in/out of pool. Looking for a reliable and positive candidate who has good communication skills. As position involves investment into training and building a relationship with the client:we are looking for someone who is available long term.
Requirements for employment: have or be willing to get valid CPR/First Aid. Criminal record check required (at employers expense).
